ВИКТОРИАНСКАЯ ЛИТЕРАТУРНАЯ ТРАДИЦИЯ В РОМАНЕ Д. МИТЧЕЛЛА «ОБЛАЧНЫЙ АТЛАС»
Аннотация
В статье рассматривается «Тихоокеанский журнал Адама Юинга» - первая часть романа Д. Митчелла «Облачный атлас», обладающая ярко выраженными характеристиками неовикторианской прозы. Подробный анализ демонстрирует соответствие формальных аспектов данного произведения неовикторианскому канону, в то время как ряд мотивов и образов, а также трактовка темы колониализма в Журнале свидетельствуют о специфической роли викторианской традиции в романе. Отсутствие постмодернистской иронии и ностальгии позволяет прийти к заключению о возможности причисления «Тихоокеанского журнала» к неовикторианским текстам лишь в самом широком смысле.
